The BEST Apple Crisp you ever did taste.

October 3, 2012 by Bethany Sy

Hey everyone! My name is Meghan and I am so excited to be here at Reality Daydream sharing a DELICIOUS recipe for a classic fall staple… Apple Crisp!

Cupcakes with Sprinkles is mainly desserts, but every once in a while I find a delicious side or main dish I have to share! I have been blogging for almost 2 years and love every minute of it! I have been married for 6 years and I have 3 cute kids, 2 girls and a boy. I love baking, quilting, and taking pictures, of food and my kids. Now lets get to the recipe…

The recipe I have to share today is one of my favorite fall recipes. Apple Crisp! I am a big fan of crisps over cobblers. I love the sweet crunchy top and the soft, sweet, cinnamon-y apples underneath. This crisp is different because there are 2 layers of crisp. One underneath the apples and one on top of the apples. Its perfect because the crisp is my favorite part.

Let’s start with the crisp! First you put your oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and baking soda in a large bowl and combine…

Add your melted butter and mix…

Combine until your mixture resembles little crumbs…

Then peel your apples…

Slice them…

In a medium bowl combine your sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg…

Add the apples and mix until they’re all coated…

In your pan sprinkle half of the crumb topping on the bottom. Pour on your apples. Then sprinkle the rest of the crumb topping over the apples and bake at 350 degrees for an hour. It will come out all warm, gooey, and delicious!

Its not worth waiting for it to cool. As soon as it comes out you should have some with vanilla ice cream, only so I don’t feel so bad cause I may have had some for dinner…

You can’t get apples from the grocery store this time of year! If you haven’t discovered apple berry farm on the edge of town, you need too! Cheap apples you can pick yourself if you want to and then I ADORE their little shop! I could totally spend hours upon hours in there!
