Is it too early to call this spring cleaning? The truth is, we’ve been planning to do a major organization haul to our garage since last summer, and just haven’t gotten around to it until now. The reason is that it really needed more than just organization… we wanted to insulate and drywall it first!
Here’s a before shot (don’t mind all the stuff in the middle of the garage… we had to move everything there to start working on insulation).
*This post is sponsored by our friends at STIHL. Thank you for supporting the fabulous brands that make Reality Daydream possible!*
We shared a YouTube video all about our plans for the garage and showed the process of it being spray-insulated here: (there’s also a sneak peek at the garage attic, which has SO MUCH potential!)
Nick and I tackled drywalling together and had it done in a weekend! Having a drywall jack helps FOR SURE.
At some point, we would love to do some kind of epoxy treatment to our garage floor, as well as that cinderblock foundation. But we’re going to live with it for now.
How gorgeous is this blank slate?!
We plan to be really intentional about what things we put back into the garage, and where we put them. Garages can so easily become a dumping grounds for random, displaced things. So we will bring our items back in gradually and based on priority!
What’s our #1 priority you ask? Our STIHL tools!
We got this sweet AK Keeper to store all of our battery powered STIHL products. It will be so handy to have them all in one place, and have a space for everything! We decided to center it on the back wall between the two windows.
I can’t tell you how excited we were to lead this baby up with all our STIHL landscaping tools! This is sweet sweet organization at its finest.
STIHL’s AK Keeper is a storage unit that’s designed to hold AK Series battery-powered products. And it’s such a great way to organize and proudly display our lineup! You can read more about it on their website HERE.
Not only is it so satisfying to have such a bright, organized space, but it’s also getting me excited for spring and the place we have for our yard/landscaping! We have some fun projects in the works when the weather warms up!
I’m laughing, because Nick’s shoes are so on-brand for this post!
We’ll keep you updated on our continued efforts to maximize space in our garage and make it work well for us!

Wow- everything looks amazing. Nothing better than having all of your tools organized! I’ve always been fascinated by that spray in foam insulation – so satisfying to watch!
