The Twins are SEVEN!

August 9, 2018 by Bethany Sy

I’m a a few weeks behind on this post, but  I’m not sorry… it’s been a CRAZY summer. And one of the most notable events of the summer is the fact that the twins turned SEVEN YEARS OLD.

Remember how I used to take pics of the twins in this orange chair every month?! I still love to do it each year on their birthday!

These girls made me a mommy and gave me my mom-badge on that HOT July afternoon (<< don’t click that link unless you have a strong stomach and/or aren’t eating anything) so many years ago. I still relive that day regularly, and never forget the struggle we went through to conceive. We are blessed beyond measure.

And speaking of being blessed, I was pretty happy when each of the girls chose something OTHER than a traditional Birthday cake. Cause that’s a lotta cake in one day y’all!

Della chose apple pie. And Paisley Turtle Cheesecake. I love a good excuse to bake!

You already know what we got the girls for their birthday from this post. But for their birthday party, we took them (and a handful of besties) horseback riding!

Even Cypress got to ride!

They even got to learn some grooming and horse care.

Horseback riding was the perfect birthday party for a group of 7-year-olds, and the girls had such a blast. I highly recommend.

As usual, I interviewed the girls on their birthday with the same questions I’ve asked them over the years. It’s so fun to see how their answers change as they grow in to young ladies! (see their answers from previous birthdays: Six, Five, and Four.

And finally, we can’t leave this post without sharing the twins’ annual willow tree pic! We bought them each willow trees the first year they were born, and have taken a picture of them with their tree each year ever since!

I was a little sad knowing that this is the last year we’ll be taking these pics in this exact location, but I love knowing that the trees are still small enough that we can have them dug up and relocated. That is HAPPENING!

In conclusion, Happy Birthday to my big girls! It’s been an amazing ride, and I can’t wait to continue to watch you grow! <3

You will be glad that you moved those trees in the years to come. I vote for your new house for the relocation. You guys are such a good mom and dad. Happy belated birthday 7 year olds.

How are you going to take their annual willow tree pictures now that you moved? Did you write it into the sale contract that you are allowed to come back to visit?

Hehe, we thought about that. 😉 But after doing some research we learned that the trees are young enough that we can have them dug up and relocated by a tree company. So we’re trying to decide if we want to squeeze them onto our new property, or if we’re going to plant them on my parents acreage.
