under-ambitious

January 30, 2012 by Bethany Sy

There was a day when the girls did a lot of… sleeping. This is not the case anymore. Our days are filled with story books, tummy time, spoon-fed meals, and trying to strategically find time to exercise. But the truth is, I’m not really that busy. I just make myself feel that way. If my computer magically disappeared, I would likely have a lot more time on my hands. A little facebook here and there, and checking other blogs that I religiously follow, it all adds up.

SO: I’m making a public declaration this week that I will spend less time on the computer, and more time getting things done! I need your accountability!

Here’s my ambitious to-do list:

  • finish writing/addressing thank you notes from our baby shower from two months ago (OOPS!)
  • visit my cousin and her micro-preemie in the NICU
  • finish painting/glazing the vanity in the garage
  • organize my catch-all room… which is a disaster on many levels
  • get started on (if not finish!) curtains for the bedroom
  • organize/fold all 3-6 mo clothes and put away
  • teach my babes to walk

Just kidding about that last one. I may add to this list as I think of more things throughout the day/week. Feel free to check in on me and make sure I’m keeping busy! This girl needs to be kept accountable!

I feel the same way most days, except mine are 2,3, and 4 1/2 so I really am pretty busy. I know that I could find more time to keep up the house if I didn’t love blogs and pinterest so much. Good luck on your goal and funny enough but that is one of mine as well.

The last bullet point should be in eyeshot though, Beth. You have a mission and I feel like you are not holding the other end of the deal.

Hello, catch 22?:) The only way we’ll know how productive you are–and thus on the computer less–is by you getting on the computer and telling us about it!! Haha…
Anyway, I know the feeling..if it weren’t for this little machine, I believe my house would make Martha Stewart green with envy!
    Have a good–busy–week!:)

Good luck! I need to finish my wedding thank yous…I heard you have up to a year and I finished half of them, but the rest are sitting in a box waiting for me to express our appreciation. It’s not that I don’t want to finish them, I just feel busy…but like you said, it’s probably in my head more than actually running out of time.
