So I went to Prague.
Even though it’s not DIY-related like 90% of my content, I feel an overwhelming need to document this adventure here on my blog! Cause it’s my blog, ya know?! I thought about writing a post something like ‘10 Amazing Things you MUST DO in Prague!!!’ but that’s so formal! Instead, I’ll just share about my journey and post beautiful pics for you to scroll through while you should probably be doing something else more productive.
Oh wait, how did that get in there? That’s just the Chicago O’Hare Airport. #facepalm
Ok this is better. Welcome to Prague:
How cute is my mom?!
The thing about Prague is that it’s sooooo rich in history and the architecture is JUST INSANE. Breathtaking buildings at every turn.
You can tell that they take great pride in their city, because everything is clean and well-kept, and the people are so nice!
A little back-story to why we came to Prague… my sister Anna lives there and teaches music at the international school! She loves living abroad and immersing herself in other cultures, and it was so fun to see her in her element. She speaks the Czech language pretty fluently, and was our tour guide. My mom and I would have been HELPLESS with the public transportation without Anna.
In Prague, it’s a ‘thing’ to put padlocks on the bridge as a way to leave a piece of you in this beautiful city. And last Christmas, Anna gave me an engraved padlock to bring with me on my trip. I’m so glad I remembered it! We picked this beautiful location.
One of my favorite parts of Prague is the plethora of cute hole-in-the-wall cafes nestled between buildings and on back alley cobblestone paths. We found this little gem by accident, and sat here sipping hot wine for LITERALLY HOURS.
I took this pic of my mom and Anna and was feeling proud for capturing it at such an artsy angle.
More pretty pictures…
I love that my mom snapped this picture of Anna and I from the same exact vantage point as the painting I bought from a street vendor (more about that painting here). I desperately with that the clock tower hadn’t been under construction and covered in blue scaffolding. UGH!
The 3 of us bonded SO MUCH during this trip, and it makes me feel so lucky to have such a close relationship with my mom and sister. They are such a treasure to me, and I wouldn’t have wanted to share this adventure in Prague with anyone else!

I loved my trip to Prague ❤️ in 2014. I laugh and say that the beer was cheaper than water. I crossed the Charles bridge and seen the amazing Starbucks nested. Hot wine was delicious. Authentic dinners served with local taste was amazing. Can’t wait to head back to Prague. Thanks for sharing!
