SpotOn GPS Dog Fence

If you follow us on Instagram, you know our boy Reuben passed away of old age last fall. He was 14, and lived a good life, but it was really hard on all of us. He was our first “child”, and our kids have always had him around.

We knew we would eventually get another dog, but we didn’t expect the stars to align so quickly and bring us Remi. He is a mini Australian Shepherd with more energy than you can possibly imagine. He loves hard and plays hard.

Going from a 14 year old lab to a 4 month old herding dog was nothing short of a shock. But he had us wrapped around his little finger in no time.

I never knew how truly different breeds of dogs are, and there has definitely been a learning curve. Remi is so smart and loves learning. He learned to go potty outside quickly, and Paisley taught him to sit, stay, turn around, and heel.

One thing that we’ve really struggled with, however, is keeping him in our yard. Reuben would always stay close and we didn’t have to worry about him wandering off and harassing the neighbors. But Remi is another story. We want to be able to hang out outside as a family! Grilling, playing, doing yard work, etc. And when we put him on a line, he just pulls and barks constantly.

We looked into having a fence installed, but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

What I really love, is that we can create “off limits zones” for our garden to keep him out. And the app lets you have multiple maps/fences, so when we go to see family or friends, we can bring him and have a boundary saved for their property as well!

It’s so nice having peace of mind and being able to enjoy our family time without worrying about Remi and his whereabouts. He’s such a good boy!
