Salted Caramels!

Hey! Its Meghan from Cupcakes with Sprinkles! All of our Christmas decorations are up, Christmas music is playing, and I’ve been shopping online for presents! I’ve also been trying to figure out what treats to give my neighbors for Christmas and I came up with this. They are sweet, creamy, and have a dash of salt that makes it so rich. They are the perfect Christmas treat!
Salted Caramel Recipe... SO SIMPLE!
Lets get what we need…

Ingredients for SALTED CARAMELS!

Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper and spray lightly with cooking spray. In a deep saucepan combine the corn syrup, sugar, and 1/2 cup water. Bring it to a boil over med-high heat. Let boil until a caramel color. Don’t stir, only swirl the pan…

In a small saucepan, over medium heat, combine the cream, butter, and salt. Bring to a simmer and then remove from the heat…

Stir over medium heat until it reaches 248-250 degrees on your candy thermometer…

Pour your caramel into your prepared pan and put in the fridge until set…

Deeeelicious Salted Caramel Recipe... surprisingly simple!

Salted Caramels

1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
1/4 cup Light Corn Syrup
1 1/2 cups Heavy Cream
5 Tablespoons Butter
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract

1. Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper and spray lightly with cooking spray.
2. In a deep saucepan combine the corn syrup, sugar, and 1/2 cup water. Bring it to a boil over med-high heat. Let boil until a caramel color. Don’t stir, only swirl the pan.
3. In a small saucepan, over medium heat, combine the cream, butter, and salt. Bring to a simmer and then remove from the heat.
4. When the sugar is a caramel color very slowly add the cream/butter mixture while you stir. Add in the vanilla and stir. Stir over medium heat until it reaches 248-252 degrees on your candy thermometer. Pour your caramel into your prepared pan and put in the fridge until set.
5. When cool, remove the parchment, place on a cutting board and cut into desired size squares.
