Ahem… tap tap … IS THIS THING ON?
Oh yeah! I have a blog that I should tend to! I have a really good excuse for being MIA, but that’s another story for another day. I’m guessing you’ve been spending time with family, chowing down on turkey and cranberry sauce, and watching football… so you probably didn’t even notice my absence. In which case: CARRY ON.
I meant to get this post up in time for ‘Shop Small Saturday’, but it didn’t happen. But that certainly doesn’t mean it’s no longer important to support our friends, families, and small businesses. And right at the heart of ‘small business’ is handmade items! While it may not always be ‘local’ to purchase handmade items (via Etsy shops and such), you’re still supporting a family and helping someone put food on their table. And most of all, these talented artisans put tons of time and love into the items they’re making. Well worth it if you ask me.
Above painting is by Megan @ Makewells on Etsy… check out all her paintings!!
A week or so ago, I asked my Facebook followers (follow me here if ya want!) to leave a link to their Etsy shops or websites where they sell their handmade items. I do this every year, and pick a handful of my favorite to feature… and I’m always BLOWN AWAY by the amount of insane creativity and talent out there. You guys are killing it!
They were all so great… but here are some of my faves:
Hopefully you’ll click around through these handmade shops and make some purchases for your Christmas list this year! And be sure to get your Christmas shopping done EARLY this year so you can just relax and enjoy the magic of the season! I don’t know a single person that wants to feel rushed and flustered when the holidays are quickly approaching.
Thanks for Pinning!
