Oh yeah… I have a blog!
My daddy moved to China on Monday… and apparently the Chinese government BLOCKS ALL BLOGS and Facebook from their internet. Isn’t that ridiculous? And how is that even possible? Isn’t the world wide web the world wide web??? So not only is he unable to view my blog and that of my siblings, he also can’t have his own blog to keep us all updated on his international travels. So not cool.
In other news, my youngest bro, Josh, has been staying with us this week… so my mind has been on things other than keeping the masses up to date on our daily happenings. In addition to entertaining a 17 year old, we’ve made TWO trips to the clinic this week (HI COWORKERS!) for routine-type visits… nothing scary or serious.
But while we’re discussing ailments, here’s a little interesting factoid…
Not only am I allergic to Penicillin, I’m also allergic to the ALTERNATIVE to Penicillin! Fun for me!
Imagine this all over your whole body, including face.
I hate to leave you with such a horrific picture. I’m sure your eyes are burning. But happily, weekly baby pics are on the way later this afternoon! That should make up for it!
Shana, could you update my medical chart in Epic to reflect my new allergies? Thanks.
I have friends that have been able to get around the China blockage while abroad. I’ll have to ask them how they were able to get around it so you can tell your dad.
Wow what a frustration to have those freedoms taken from you. Why would you choose to live there? LOL
I recognize that rash! My son is highly allergic to the entire family of cillins and mayacins. Typically if you are allergic to penicillin then you will be allergic to the entire family of them.
My son has to use military grade antibiotics when he’s had to have them in the past. But he’s a carrier so he rarely gets sick let alone sick enough to need antibiotics. Unfortunately he brings everything home and shares it with us!
I thought I posted earlier … oh well. How about webshots or you can share photo folders in Snapfish and/or Shutterfly. Maybe he could use Google Reader and subscribe to your blog (that’s how I read all my blogs).
No, he doesn’t have a smart phone. 🙁 I wonder if it’s just certain parts of China that block Facebook and Blogspot? Either way, it’s super frustrating.
I have friends that live in China and they blog and use Facebook. They also unlocked their American iPhones and use them. Does your dad have a smart phone?
My husband is also very allergic to penicillin and it’s other various forms. It worries me that my daughter may be to, the doctor said it’s a crap shoot allergy. Sometimes the kids will get it sometimes not. How did you manage to just now find this out? LOL
Is Siping a website?
My bro-in-law lives in China and has a blog on blogspot that he can keep updated from Siping. Maybe your dad can set up something on there.
I think I have a solution…go to your Dashboard, then click on Settings, Email & Mobile and then add your dad’s email address to blogsend… every time you post, he will get it as an email! I think he can do the same for you! 🙂 good luck!
He really can’t see anything…. Wow, China is turning into a real fun-suck!
Thanks for the info…
Have you made a complete recovery from the allergic hive episode yet??
