It’ll change your life.

May 11, 2010 by Bethany Sy

I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, and thought to myself  ‘now that girl could use a brownie.’  It was at that point I vowed to not rest until there were brownies in front of me. It’s true, I regularly crave chocolate and sweets. And for a moment, you might consider asking me if I’m pregnant. But then you would remember. And hold your tongue.

I just made brownies from scratch for the first time ever. I’ve never blogged a recipe before, but some things are just meant to be shared. This brilliant combination of ingredients came from the kitchen of my mother-in-law. Thanks Diane!!
Fudge Pecan Brownies

2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 t. vanilla
2/3 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1/4 t. salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Beat eggs, stir in sugar, butter and vanilla. Stir together flour, cocoa and salt and stir into butter mixture. Add chocolate chips and pecans. Pour into a greased pie plate (9″) Bake 30 minutes at 350.   YUM!

Do the right thing… drizzle some caramel on top.

Is 11:00PM too late to make this wonderful recipe? I just read your blog and my mouth is watering. Wonder if it would wake up my husband and son if they smelled warm brownies in the oven!

WOW! Those look good. They really are better than any mix I ever baked. The secret is to use real butter. Did you use pecans? My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Good thing it is too late for me to make some. I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe.
    Love you,
    Diane
