Flower Girls!

March 13, 2012 by Bethany Sy

Several months ago, you may remember how my little bro Caleb flew to Spain to proposed to his girlfriend Laura who was studying abroad. Sure made for a strikingly romantical photo.

And I would venture to say that they make a strikingly cute couple as well. I can’t wait for Laura to officially be my sister! I think if my brother didn’t marry her, I’d just legally adopt her because I like her that much.

Anyway, the point of this post is to share that Laura and Caleb have formally asked Paisley and Adelyn to be flower girls in their October wedding! And the girls joyfully accepted! This is especially exciting for me because I always wanted  to be a flower girl, and never got to be. So I’m gonna live vicariously through me little ones. It will be interesting, to say the least. They’ll be 15 months old, so I imagine they’ll be walking… but yeah. I’m not sure how good they’ll be at following direction. I might need to have a secret flask’o’whisky tucked away in my cleavage to get me through this event. But I can’t wait. What’s the worst that could happen? They both throw themselves on the ground in a full-fledged tantrum in front of hundreds of people? I have a feeling there will be some M&M bribery involved. I’m excited and terrified!

Hehe. They will be SOOOOOO cute and will make great flower girls. I laughed at the part where you said might need to consider a flask of whiskey in your chest. That was a comical mental picture. Btw, I noticed you switched them up. I believe Adelyn is on the left this time and Paisley is on the right. See ya tomorrow. CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to leave a quick tip for you! When our daughter was around that age, she was also a flower girl and to get her to sit/stand still for the wedding photographs, I filled a pretty little satchel with raisins, goldfish crackers, etc. She held onto that little bag and enjoyed her snack during the photos and was so content digging around for snacks that she cooperated as good as a toddler could! 🙂

Maybe with your craftiness, you can decorate a stroller & push them down the aisle!!!

When I read this post, I laughed. When my daughter got married, my then three year old nephew was the ringbearer. He decided he didn’t want to walk down the aisle to the front of the church so he dropped down and log rolled halfway down. I couldn’t see it because I had my back to him but the whole wedding party was standing in the front laughing. He rolled halfway and then popped up and ran to his mother. He never made it to the front of the church! We will never let him forget what he did especially now that he is a teenager!

Miles will probably pick them up and drag them down the aisle! It is cute when they are unpredictable.

They will be adorable! Everyone will be patient & understanding because of their age 🙂 really the only ones that matter are bride & groom and that’s who they wanted so they will be happy. Just be prepared with their fave snacks puffs are good and can be hid easily and not so messy.

Trail of mini marshmallows! That was what my mom bribed me with. They’ll get down the aisle eventually. I mean what’s the rush? haha
