Hey Reality Daydream readers! You’re the coolest people on the internet. My friend Beth was kind enough to let me guest post today, and I am tickled!
Before I jump into my project, I’m going to tell you a little about me, so I’m not some crazy stranger to you.
My name is Kenz, and I run a wee blog called Interiors By Kenz. Me and my main squeeze Aaron are working on de-80’s-ifiying our house in Utah. My motto is “extreme humiliation shouldn’t keep us from creating beautiful things.”
Our living situation is a little on the conglomerate side. We have 2 little puppies: Indy & Buster, 3 free-range chickens, 2 best friends living in the basement, Matt and Karl, and a baby on the way. It keeps things interesting to say the least! Stop by and read about our wild adventure with DIY!
This is the perfect time of year for some backyard entertainment! I have the cure to your boredom. This is sure to spice up any bland BBQ. Even better than Mrs Dash. And it’s jumbo. Everything is better jumbo. Jumbo pencils, jumbo mortgage rates, Jumbo the Elephant, jumbo key boards you dance on, jumbo stuffed animals from the fair… Jumbo Jenga!
I figured that 3 feet tall was “jumbo” enough, and calculated it would take 33 pieces to achieve that height. If we stayed true to the original Jenga with 54 pieces, the starting height would be over 5 feet. I don’t think the world is prepared for Tower of Terror Jenga and the earthquake that would follow.
It took 4 4×4’s to build the set. (Each 4×4 yielded 9 Jenga pieces.) I cut each piece 10.5″ long, using a miter saw. It took 45 minutes to make the cuts. I lightly sanded the rough edges, and it was game time!
This is a project anyone can do, and it’s quick. You can do it while you’re food is on the grill. You can do it while your husband runs to the store because he forgot to pick up hamburger buns.
Have fun playing Jumbo Jenga this summer! I’ll let you know when I’ve figured out how to build Jumbo Chutes and Ladders, but until then, happy stacking!
Thanks again for letting me stop by! And always remember that you have a standing invitation to hang out with me at Interiors By Kenz. I love to make friends, so make sure to tell me all about your cool life! Later!

SOOO Cool Kenz! I had seen one of these at a Renaissance fair (yes, I just publicly admitted to going to one, ha!) years ago, and always remembered it. I wanna make one! Thanks for including the dimensions of each piece, my first thought was "how did she figure out the same proportions" – the less math we have to do, the better. 🙂
