Soooo… ok.
I don’t work today, and I’m feeling quite lazy. The more projects I’m in the middle of, the less likely I am to be productive. It’s an epic problem in my life. I will tell you that we’re soon to finish up two matching dressers (that took us a LOT longer than we anticipated), and we have a couple china cabinets that we’re super excited to get started on! The insulating/drywalling/heating of the garage has put a serious cramp in our furniture/backsplash style, because we’ve been busily trying to finish it before it’s unbearably cold. So you’ll have to excuse our lack of creative posts. It’s a good thing our blog is all-life-inclusive, because I would feel really trapped in a content specific blog!
Though graphic design in certainly not one of my strengths, we’ve had some people suggest that we get our very own “buttons” for our blog… that you, our loyal followers, can copy and paste to their own blog to link back to us!! It sounded like a good idea, but I’ve put it off for a long time. It sounded like a complicated process, and I didn’t have any inspiration.
I tend to wait for inspiration before I start anything.
So I’ve been thinking about this “button” business, and a design that we could use that is all our own! Then yesterday, I went in my bathroom, and snapped this sad picture of the mural I painted back-in-the-day.
I messed with it a little, changed the saturation, added some graduated tint, and font! I made a “Featured On” button, as well as a general “Sawdust and Embryos” button. See below!!
Fun, right?!
So grab a button (located on the right sidebar), and add it to your blog!! All you have to do is copy and past the code, and add it as an HTML gadget!
Special thanks to my smokin’ hot husband who couldn’t sleep last night, and decided to figure out the coding/HTML side of making our buttons possible.
Let us know if it works! And/or if you have any trouble with the buttons. We’re beginners with this stuff, and there definitely might be kinks to work out!
It worked!! Great job !
BTW – we were thinking about hauling our curtains back at Thanksgiving…. with all of your other projects, is this a bad time? Just let us know 🙂
