Baked Cinnamon Bun Donuts

Its Meghan from Cupcakes with Sprinkles! I am so excited to share another delicious recipe with you today! This one does require a donut pan, but its so worth it! You can get them on Amazon (aff link) HERE
 
I was in the mood for cinnamon rolls and came across this recipe. These donuts don’t take much time to make and were so yummy. They are soft, moist, sweet, and cinnamony. When you make them let me know what you think!!!
 
These are the things we need…
 
 
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, sugars, baking powder, and salt…
 
 
In a separate bowl combine the buttermilk, vanilla, egg, and melted butter…
 
 
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk together until just combined. Pour into a pastry bag or a ziploc bag with a corner cut off…
 
 
Pipe into your greased donut pan…
 
 
Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes and turn out onto a cooling rack. Frost with cream cheese frosting and enjoy!!

Baked Cinnamon Bun Donuts
 
Ingredients
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 4 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons Brown Sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 6 Tablespoons Buttermilk
  • 1 Large Egg
  • ½ teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter, melted
Cream Cheese Glaze
  • ¾ cup Powdered Sugar 2 Tablespoons Cream Cheese, softened
  • ½ teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons Milk or Cream
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray the donut pan with cooking spray. In a large bowl whisk together flour, sugars, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl combine the buttermilk, egg, vanilla and melted butter. Add to the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined.
  3. Pour into a pastry bag or a ziploc bag with a corner cut off and pipe into the donut pan. Bake for 10 to 11 minutes. They wont be very golden brown, but should spring back when touched. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes then turn out onto a wire rack to finish cooling.
Cream Cheese Glaze
  1. Combine the powdered sugar, cream cheese, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth. Add milk or cream one teaspoon at a time, whisking until creamy. Dip the tops of the donuts in the frosting and leave until set.

    Those look very yummy!! I also need a donut pan, maybe until then a muffin pan will suffice.
