If you’ve been around since last summer, you might remember that we put in some raised beds from Vego! They looks so chic and are so easy to put together. We also love how having raised garden beds helps reduce the weeds significantly! They’re magical!
Check out our garden post from last year.

Before I show you alllll the things, I want to tell you that Vego Garden is having a 40% off sale right now on EVERYTHING! And, I also got an additional 5% off these are the 17″ tall 9 in 1 Raised Vego Garden Beds if you use my code REALITYDAYDREAM5%OFF
Planting our vegetable gardens are a family affair around here! The kids love to be a part of choosing which veggies and herbs we plant, and since they’re a part of the whole process, it’s so much more exciting for them to see the literal fruits of our labor grow before their eyes!
We love these raised Vego garden beds so much, that we got 2 more (the 17″ 6 in 1)! As well as a trellis that goes between them!
We line the bottom of the beds with cardboard as a weed barrier (the carboard that the raised beds came in works great!), then add raised bed soil, perlite, and compost!
Oh one side, we planted strawberries (hoping for an amazing harvest next year)! And on the other side, we planted cucumbers and beans. We meant to plant pole beans so they could climb, but we accidentally planted bush beans… which is totally fine. They just won’t climb. But would you look at these cucumbers go?!
I never fully understood exactly how the cucumber plant grows until this year! Look how that flower transforms into an actual cucumber. FASCINATING!
Even though we didn’t plant pole beans, these bush beans are so happy and bushy! And producing green beans like craaaaazy!
The other new bed on the other side of the trellis is our strawberries, and they’re looking great! Can’t wait to get a harvest next year!
Want a tour of the rest of the garden? I know you do!
In the bed, we have our lettuce and spinach (which have bolted, we need to start thinking about planting again for a fall harvest of those!), Then there’s a row with one of each… thyme, bell pepper, and basil. In the far back is carrots! Everything but the thyme is growing prolifically!
This next raised bed has our watermelon in front, the cauliflower, then brussels sprouts! The watermelon vines are spilling over the edges and around the corners. It’s so much fun to watch them grow! We have found a few watermelons so far, and I know there’ll be more to come, because there are a LOT of blooms!
Look at these babies!
I love the blue foliage of the cauliflower, but unfortunately, it didn’t product this year. I will have to do more research for next year to see if I can figure out where I went wrong.
But those brussels sprouts?! SO COOL to see how they grow! I’m obsessed!
Finally, our tomato raised bed! We have two beefsteaks and 5 heirloom cherry varieties, and they’re all going craaaaazy!
Time to make some salsa! I’m also thinking about making this roasted tomato pasta sauce.
How is YOUR garden doing this year?!
