Spontaneous once again!

November 5, 2012 by Bethany Sy

I know it’s cray-cray that I’m blogging in the evening, but I have good reason… we’ve been driving for the last 8 hours. We took an impromptu trip to southern Missouri to visit Nick’s ma and his sister & fam. It was my very first time being down in his old stomping grounds, and I got to see the scene of a lot of old ornery (and often illegal) memories.

And when I say ‘impromptu trip’ this is how it happened: On Saturday morning, we wandered around in our PJ’s until noon, sipping coffee and talking about what we should do with our ‘free weekend’. Nick kept saying “we should go somewhere”… So we called his dad/step mom and asked if we could come for a visit. But they were busy. Called MY parents… sick. My brother and his wife had plans. Yadda yadda yadda. So Nick gets on Mapquest and informs me that we could be in Bunker Missouri in no less than 5 1/2 hours. Me… being the spontaneous gal that I am… said, sure! Let’s go! If it’s really only 5 1/2 hours.

We packed up the girls and drove out the driveway 1 hour later.

AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE FOR 8 HOURS.

Mapquest LIED (or my sweet husband miscalculated?).

But who doesn’t love the scenery in Missouri? The girls were real troopers, and we got to spend some quality time with family members that we don’t see often enough! I love being spontaneous (remember this?), so it filled my quota for at least another couple of months.

I’ll be back tomorrow with our Royal Design Studio STENCIL GIVEAWAY!!! Till then, enjoy this sweet pictures of my babes throwing rocks into Loggers Lake deep in the stix of MO. Love that my girls are creating memories in the same place their daddy did as a young laddy.
