Corn Hole

September 14, 2010 by Bethany Sy

A few weeks ago, while working a Saturday, I phoned the hubs to see if he could whip up a bean-bag toss game for our BBQ that we were hosting that night…. thinking. ‘all you need to do is cut a couple boards into the same sized rectangle, and put a hole in them.’ Honestly, I didn’t want it to be fancy or anything. I just love bean bags ok? And yard games in general.

And this is what I came home to:

He researched corn hole, and built them with exact dimensions. And since the wood we had lying around are covered in paint splatter from other projects, we’ve decided to just go with it! It’ll look like graffiti eventually!! And then we’ll slap on a coat of varnish to seal it all in. I love me some character.

This boy even SEWED his own bean bags… and ‘borrowed’ some corn from the grain bins on the north side of our property.

P.S. This is a little hint of an upcoming project.  Hehe…

so very cool!! Just this afternoon I was spray painting a large frame that has lots of “frilly” edges. When I picked it up a few minutes ago it left a pretty design on the drop cloth underneath. That started my brain thinking about creating something with it. But, didn’t think of it again once I startd picking up the toys in the yard the boys left out! Somehow that takes away my creative moments. LOL
