Hey! Its Meghan from Cupcakes with Sprinkles! I hope your holidays were as good as ours. Lots of food, family, and games. My husband had the last 2 weeks off of school so we got to have fun as a family. But I’m ready to be back to our routine and back to trying new recipes!
I haven’t made cookies in a while so I went on a search and found this recipe. These are no ordinary sugar cookies. They are more rich because of the brown sugar, but they are as soft as pillows. They melt in your mouth. They are topped with a delicious sweet and tangy cream cheese frosting. Let make them!
- ⅔ cup Butter
- 1½ cups Brown Sugar, packed
- 2 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 2½ cups All-Purpose Flour
- ½ teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Sour Cream
- 8oz Cream Cheese, room temp
- ½ cup Butter, room temp
- ½ cup Brown Sugar, packed
- 2¼ cups Powdered Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together the brown sugar and butter. Add eggs one at a time and then the vanilla. Whisk together dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Add the dry ingredients alternating with the sour cream. Mix until just combined.
- Place on the dough on a lined cookie sheet with a small cookie scoop. Bake for 8 -10 minutes.
- Cream together the cream cheese and butter. Add in the brown sugar until combined. Then slowly add the powdered sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add in the vanilla and beat a bit longer. Frost the cookies when cooled.
