I’m feeling a lot like I owe you an update on our living room wall. It’s been a little while since I eloquently revealed the demolition of the barrier between our living room and dining room.
Let’s review a bit, shall we?
I was flipping through some old pictures of the dining room (because I took all the ‘before pics’ of the wall on the living room side), and I found this picture from the day we moved in… HA! (Yikes?)
Here’s a somewhat more recent photo so you can see more clearly that bizarre bump-out in the wall.
After living with a half-demolished wall for 6+ months…
…we finally decided to take the plunge and rip that thing out. Now I have a great view of my messy living room from not only the dining room, but the kitchen as well!
It was (and IS) messier than I prefer. But I’m keeping the end-goal in mind. (to see my sweet rendering of that, see this post!)
SO, if you’ve been joining us for this wild journey, you know this is where we left off. The next matter needing addressed is the duct work… cause let’s be honest, it’s getting cold. Here’s a little visual of what needs to happen with the duct work in order for us to have heat upstairs again.
No biggie, right?
Nick’s dad went home a LONG time ago, so it’s all on him now… and he loves being a problem-solver!
I’ve been a little lazy at taking photos of each step, but my smokin-hot man-boy has completely framed in the duct work and arches!
… next on the agenda is wiring and drywall!
So that’s where we stand!
And now you won’t feel as anxious all weekend, wondering how our wall debacle is coming along. Do you feel so informed? Are you judging me after seeing how messy my house is in most of these pictures? That’s ok with me!
