Unfinished Project Updates!

August 14, 2012 by Bethany Sy

So we’re kinda in the middle of several projects… does this ever happen to you? Surely not.

Yeah, so I thought I’d share some sneak peak shots to hold you over! Be excited!

Ever since Pinterest became a ‘thing’, I’ve been wanting to do something Ombre. And you know I love doing unique things with stain, so we thought we’d try a little Ombre staining! Yep! We’re hoping to finish up this project this weekend, so hopefully we’ll be have a big reveal post next week!

Remember our tragic dry erase board calendar project? Probably not unless you’ve been following our blog for several years. Ever since completing this project, we knew it wasn’t going to be permanent. We just didn’t love it. And if it’s going to be in our own home and used regularly, we just HAVE to love it for it to stick around.

In a bizarre turn of events, the dry erase paint gave us a little nudge to get moving on a new idea… because it started retracting, which is resulting in this:

As you can see, it’s pulling our wall away from… our wall. Super ghetto. Nick is building me something fancy to replace it. Super excited! My man-child is so accommodating and handy with his man-hands and man-tools.

We have found loving homes for most of our kittens, but a few remain. They don’t even run when the loud power tools are running. Here’s a couple snuggling under the active table saw, covered in sawdust.

You may be thinking “what could possibly be cuter than two sweet kittens?” …well I’ll show you.

OMG those kittens. Kittens are my kryptonite, and if I didn’t have a fiance who may leave me if I accumulated too many, I’d never say no to a kitten. #catlady

I have been waiting to see another one of your finished pieces so I’m glad one is almost done :). Also I wanted to update you on the sweet calico that we got from you on Sunday…we named her Daisy and she is just so darn sweet and absolutely adorable!!! The two kittens you have in the picture are cuties too! Your girls look like little sweethearts. On a side note my kids loved Reuben lol

Awww they are all so cute!
Not the unfinished stuff though…we are wrapping things up at our place as well, so when we go to sell soon, it won’t be a mad dash to get those lil things taken care of.

My daughter was a baldie as well. She has a twin brother-who, of course, had a head full of dark hair from birth. Peopl used to ask if I liked having twin BOYS-even when Ash was decked out in pink/purple girlie stuff, LOL.
When her hair came in, it was-and is-amazing! Blonde and curly until age three, then it went brunette and wavy-she’s like one of the Pantene hair models now. Worth the wait 🙂

Her eyes are DARK gray with brown speckles. They seem to get more and more brown… so we’ll see! I love brown eyes too. But I also love Paisley’s icy blue eyes!

And yep it’s true, Adelyn is pretty darn bald. She actually has light wispy hair that you can’t really see in photos, but still… she’s basically bald. 🙂 I can’t wait to see what she looks like with hair!

O.M.G. I’m sorry, but it totally cracks me up how bald Adelyn is!!! I wonder if she wasn’t next to full-head-o-toddler-hair Paisley if I would even think twice about it! Haha! And her eyes look so much darker than Paisley’s. Are they brown? I love beautiful brown doe eyes!! 🙂

My Macy girl has the full head of blonde hair like Pais and Peyton is just starting to sprout some. She looks like a baby orangutan with her orange spikes at her crown! Hahaha! Both of my girls have those gorgeous bright blue eyes too! 🙂
