Things are getting heated…

November 8, 2010 by Bethany Sy

This weekend, we didn’t schedule any backsplashes in the interest of insulating and drywalling the garage. Rumor has it, this is the last nice weekend before Iowa’s typical subzero snowy mess sets in, so there’s no time to waste!

Having finished the walls in the evenings last week, the ceiling was all that remained… the hardest part!

Brother Tim came down for the day to lend a hand and help things move along more quickly. They got the whole ceiling insulated on Saturday!

Lucille supervised from her insulation bed.

And Nick tackled drywalling the ceiling on Sunday, with occasional assistance from yours truly.

We’ve still got a ways to go, but it’s really starting to look fresh and finished! Like a room in our home! I’m not gonna lie, I kinda want to bring a couch out there!  …but then I wouldn’t get anything done.

I’m so lucky to have such a handy man! And such a willing (and handy) brother! Thanks boys!

Oh you’ll love it. Our garage was finished with air and heat when we moved here 9yrs ago. I’m a quilter and DH suggested I use the space for my quilt studio … he’s so sweet. I screamed yes and haven’t looked back.
