Thanksgiving Happenings

November 29, 2010 by Bethany Sy

  • We went to see Nick’s side of the family on Thursday and Friday.
  • I ate entirely too much.
  • I went Black Friday shopping for the first time ever. It’s true, I was a Black Friday virgin. It was a crazy crazy experience. I only thought I was going to die once. I purchased one Christmas gift… for $10.
  • What’s worse than having explosive diarrhea at your in-laws on Thanksgiving day? Try having the only bathroom in the house located right off the living room… where everyone is sitting. Awesome.
  • We went to my parents on Saturday and Sunday.
  • I ate entirely too much.
  • My diarrhea subsided.
  • We scouted out and cut down a Christmas tree for my parents casa. It was cold. We had a stranger snap our family photo at the Christmas tree farm. She told us after that she’s a photographer, and handed out business cards. Glad she didn’t charge us a sitting fee!
  • The Chicago Bears dominated.
  • I’m well aware that our blog has been less than interesting lately. It’s just our lives, folks. We’re boring. But we are finishing up a couple of projects soon, and we have lots of juicy backsplash/mural painting coming up this month. So please don’t abandon us. Please.
  • I’m tiring quickly of my short haircut, and I’m strongly considering growing it out again. Comments? Suggestions?
  • What was the highlight of your Thanksgiving weekend?

My 8 month old grandson came to visit for a day and then headed for home. Finished up my Christmas shopping and the house is totally decked out for Christmas! All in all, a productive Thanksgiving! GO BEARS!!!!

My 27 yr old pulled in the driveway Saturday–he flew in late Fri. night from Texas for a surprise! My 10 yr old shot his first deer on Sunday. I ate WAY-TOO-MUCH again this year which is not really a highlight–just the norm!
