Sept Camera Dump

September 27, 2013 by Bethany Sy

May I just start by saying… HAPPY FRIDAY to you!

Nick and I are in the throes of SEVERAL different projects simultaneously (one being the girls’ toddler beds), so there’s nothing shiny and finished to show you today. So instead I’m just going to unload a camera dump of the littles all over your eyeballs. Can you believe it’s almost been two months since our last camera dump?

Herewego…

Since I made the big switch to a smartphone about 6 months ago, I find that 90% of the pictures I take are with my phone instead of my nice camera. In a way that makes me sad (sad that I’m lazy, and sad that the pictures aren’t as quality). But truthfully, I TAKE way more pictures now than I did before. So that’s good, right? Having a decent camera phone is nice, because it’s always handy and oh-so portable! So I ain’t gonna beat myself up about it too much.

Are you the same way with using your phone? Are you faithful to get pictures actually printed? Or do they pile up on your camera or in files on your computer? Times have changed, huh?

You live in paradise. Gorgeous. And yes, I like the stacked books and toys too. My little girl doesn’t do that, but I can see it happening.

I just got a smartphone too but don’t take many photos on it. I still prefer my dslr. I need to start using the phone a little more. I only print photos to send to gradma and grandpa occasionally and to go on the wall. i do yearly photo books though to get the pics in print form.

Yep hardly print any out. I find myself using the camera on the phone A lot for taking pics when I am tearing into something to repair. It makes great documentation to refer back too.
I enjoy seeing all your pics here .

^ I’ve heard that Groovebook thing is awesome too! I need to do that… All of my pics from basically the last year have been on my phone because i lost the charging cores to my digital camera. Until TODAY!!! I was in the garage getting ready for our sale tomorrow and found it in a box! Turns out my bro through it in there when he cleaned out and moved our old entertainment center out there last Christmas. I’m so glad to have it back! I only print my pics when there’s a great sale at CVS or Walgreens for like 10cent prints! Lol

I am totally cracking up at that pile of stuff in the chair! My girls stack and hoard things too! And I love nick’s 311 shirt. 🙂

Paisley LOVES making piles of toys and books. She smiles big and says ‘CLEANING!’. Even if she’s taking them off the shelf and putting them in a pile on the floor on the other side of the room! 🙂

Have you ever heard of Groovebook? Its like $3 a month and they print a book for you from the photos on your phone! (40-100 photos each month in a book) A few photog friends of mine have downloaded it. Said that it isnt something they would pay for for clients, but definitely nice to have something PRINTED. I havent downloaded it yet but it sounds pretty neat.
I am a wedding photographer and since my youngest is a PITA, we rarely get any nice photos of the kids with the big camera. I use my iPhone way more than my big camera. Sad, but at least there are photos of them.

Hmmm very interesting! I need to look into this! Right now, I’m just getting a photobook printed each year for each girl. We don’t ever get actual prints made.
