Say WHA?

January 24, 2013 by Bethany Sy

Oh man, do you ever just feel like you’ve been so productive and accomplished, and then realize at the end of the day that you can’t mark ANYTHING off your to-do list? MAJOR bummer. Sometimes life just happens, and we need to remember to high-five ourselves for putting pants on and just making it through the day unscathed.

As I sit here, the mountain of unfolded laundry is winking at me and giving me lame pick-up lines.

The laundry is experiencing… rejection.

I just don’t feel like doing much of anything, except sit here at talk to you and listen to my babes giggling through the baby monitor. Although, I shall keep it short and sweet so I can be more purposeful about rejecting the laundry.

We’re finishing up a KILL-ER furniture project, and I’m awfully excited to plaster it all over this old blog. It has a similar vibe to our Burnpile Buffet …just to give you a little hint.

Gosh I love my life.

There was a moment last summer, garage-saling with my friend Holly… she says ‘Beth, is that puke or paint on your shoulder?’ I looked at my shoulder, shrugged, and said ‘I HAVE NO IDEA!!!’

I’m THAT mom. And proud of it!blank-001

I have to tell you I have been “stalking” your blog for a long time, and have never posted a comment…..until now. I just want you to know I love everything about your blog and family! Your talent and babies are amazing…..you are blessed! I have 3 boys (6,4,1) and life is crazy most of the time at my house, lots of laundry. Sometimes I restart the dryer like 4 times before I take the load out and fold. I have many projects in my head that I daydream about and wonder if I will ever get to them. Someday……
At the end of the day we need to remember to give ourselves a high 5 on what we have accomplished, even if it is just wiping snotty noses and bums! Your a great mom and wife, and I can’t wait to see your next project!

Cant’ wait to see how the stain project turns out. Your buffet project gave me inspiration for some nesting tables that I will (someday) complete!

Feeling productive without being able to mark anything off that to do list sounds like the story of my life. So now I make 2 lists. the to do list and the I did list. Makes me feel better when I look at the list at the end of the day. As far as laundry…it’s my nemesis. With 3 boys (the hubby, a toddler and my older one) I learned to do only small loads so the folding doesn’t feel never ending. Can’t wait to see the new project!

Maria, it’s funny that you said that… because after I was all down in the dumps about not having anything to cross off, I thought through my day, made a list of the things I did, and crossed them off! There’s something so affirming about crossing things off! Even is it’s just ‘brush teeth’ and things of that nature. 🙂

I’m excited to see what you’ve been working on. I too have to have five myself for putting pants on. Why are pants to hard to get on??

not feeling like u “crossed” anything off ur To Do List is a bummer but just reflect on everything u do have or did cross off ur list. its those things that give u the smile that make the laundry, seen not that bad!

cant wait to see the new project!!!

You deserve a break to do just nothing every now and then. There will always be housework/laundry to do. Enjoy being a mommy, wife and blogger the time will pass before you know it! Take it from me, my “babies” are 28, 25 and 22. It seems just yesterday we were playing in the backyard, going to the zoo and crafting all day!
