I’m pretty embarrassed by my lack-of-knowledge in the fabric designer scene. Until very recently, the only designer I could have rattled off is Amy Butler… who doesn’t love Amy Butler? Nobody, that’s who.
Well, a few weeks ago I discovered Orla Kiely and talked about her awesome patterns HERE, and just this morning I discovered the ravishing and GORGEOUS work of London artist Rachel Cave.
Feast your eyes:
I’m so overjoyed… I am absolutely IN LOVE with these prints.
I stumbled upon them this morning when I was doing a Google Image search for ‘fabric patterns’ looking for something inspiring I could use for an upcoming project, and that’s when I saw this. It made my whole body feel all tingly.
I’m thinking I’ll be getting right to work, using this CRAZY-AWESOME fabric pattern as inspiration. I love the colors, I love the whimsy, and for some reason… I’m totally obsessed with that tear-drop shape lately.
Speaking of colors, what would you call those orang-ish-red tear-drop-shaped flower petals? They’re not quite pink enough to be corral or salmon. Persimmon maybe? I should have finished design school… HEHE!
Do y’all know of any other designers that you know I’d love? I’m begging you to share!
Hi there, I’ve just spotted this lovely little write up. Im so pleased you like my work!

Oh my gosh! Rachel Cave! Thanks soooo much for commenting. 🙂 Did you see the secretary desk that I painted using your flower pattern as inspiration?! It’s still my favorite piece of furniture in our whole house. You’re such an amazing designer! Thanks for the inspiration!
