You may remember this little beauty my mom picked up at a garage sale? Well I’m proud to announce that I finally finished one of my ‘projects!’ The thing about painting is that it usually takes several coats (not to mention sanding and priming), so I like to keep lots of projects in the works!
I took my inspiration from this necklace from Anthropologie… I wish I owned this necklace.
Then I taped off the faces of the drawers and drew on a flowery swirly design with a pencil and painted away while simultaneously watching an episode of Dexter with my loved ones. Ya can’t blame a girl for multitasking!
And this is how she turned out!!
These knobs I stole from my dad’s crummy dresser in the garage where he keeps motor oil and tools. They were WAY too cool to be on an old chipping-paint, rotting-away-in-the-garage type of dresser. And they’re super vintage!
So there you have it! What projects have you guys been up to lately??

I have a desk almost identical to this one! I really like this idea.
pretty colors! Did you have them special-made or did you find them already mixed?

They’re just little tubes of Folk Art acrylic paints!
Ohhh you like Dexter too? Aren’t you just a pile of awesome!!
Hi Jen, we use Minwax Polycrylic and either brush it on or roll it on. But I’m sure there’s spray-versions too!
When you cover it with water based poly is that a spray or do you paint it on? What brand do you use?
Wow, you are a refubirsher after my own heart. I often have a weird vision and people look at me like “why”? LOL
Got you in my reader now too!!!
Can you tell me what kinid of paint you used to paint the flowers? cheap Folkart acrylics? then probably poly over them? I found your blog from Brooke’s blog, just so you know…. I have added you to my Google Reader – so I can see any future fabulousness, plus pictures of those babygirls – too dang cute, I could just smoosh their cheeks!!! you are right though, they are starting to look at you like you are out of your mind when you photograph them, LOL!!! funny! I <3 babies (mine are grown :o( THANKS for the great posts and content!!

p.s. I too am a craigslist junkie – is that a decor style? if so – I am right on trend….
yep! just cheap-o acrylic tubes of paint! and then slap on some water-based poly (so it’s not tinted yellow by oil base).
we’re glad to have you around the blog! welcome!
yep! it sold on craigslist about 10 minutes after we posted it! SCORE!!!
Is that desk for sale? A craigs list project maybe? LOVE IT!
Oh that looks so good!!!! I adore the colors, and I really like the dot details you added to the scrolls.
PS I really like your baseboards. That might sound wierd but my husband won’t let me replace ours with tall ones so I always notice other people’s.
