Lettuce Mayhem

Many of you have been asking for an update on the vegetable garden, and I have good reason for withholding from you. You see, for a long time, I just wasn’t sure which were weeds and which were veggies. Shameful, I know. I certainly didn’t want to pull up my little tender shoots of life. And so the story goes…

To make a long and very muddy story short, I’ve finally weeded my lettuce, peas, onions and carrots. The tomatoes on the other hand are still surrounded my weeds and grass, because until my mom identified the tomato plants, I was at a loss… and feeling like a vegetable garden failure. But because this is my very first year, I’m trying to cut myself a little slack.

Speaking of cutting, we cut our lettuce; and in doing so, realized we had a LOT of lettuce. We decided to share some with our neighbors down the road, who in turn gave us a plate of Rice Crispy Treats. I’d say we got the better end of the deal.

So there you have it. My little sad veggie garden.
