Remember the little teaser we threw out for on of our upcoming projects?? Well the time is now. I found this end table whilst thrift shopping with my mom. (In fact, it was the same day she bought this little laundry hamper). And when I saw it… I knew immediately how I wanted to paint it.
This was a super easy furniture update, but I think it makes a dramatic difference. Instead of sitting next to your grandma’s davenport, it now has a fresh, modern look to it… and the clean white lines could go with just about any decor! (as long as you don’t mind a little pop of orange! I know I don’t).
After taking off the hardware, we sanded the whole thing with 220 grit, and then primed with Kilz, then took out those panels behind the lattice and primed/painted them using this bright orange! Before popping those inserts back in, we gave the whole unit a fresh goat of glossy white paint FOR THE WIN.
At some point during every furniture transformation, one of us says to the other… “this one we should keep.”
And then we don’t.
Because we’re saving for something far more important.
I know these pictures are TERRIBLE because this is an old post and I didn’t know better than to take pics at night. HAHA! But this is still one of my favorite furniture transformations to date! (even 5 years later!). Be sure to check out all the other furniture updates we’ve done over the years.

LOVE your re-purposed furniture! I wish that I had your creativity! Is this cute little table for sale and what would you be asking? Thanks and seriously….love your stuff!
this is a really beautiful transformation. You have a really good eye for design. I would have thrown the “before” end table to the curb. But I love love love it now.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I have an end table very similar to this that has been taking up space in my garage for two years, but I can’t bring myself to get rid of it because yes, it was my Grandmother’s. I now know what I am going to do with it, and I am SO EXCITED!!!
FABULOUS!!!!
