It Can Be Messy

January 20, 2010 by Bethany Sy

I asked my hottie husband what I should blog about tonight… jokingly he said “our marriage.” Now, there are lots of ‘married’ things I withhold from my loyal blog readers, things that you really don’t want to know about anyways. But sadly, I leave out many of the funny, irritating, crazy little quirks that come with the first few years of marriage.

As many of you know, we just celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary a couple weeks ago. I had planned lots of beautiful flowery words to blog about how wonderful our marriage is, and how I’m the luckiest girl in the world… but we were fighting that weekend about something or other, and the words weren’t flowing naturally. So I stopped, mid-blog-entry.

I want to be as transparent as possible… because I know we’re not alone, so here you have it! Everyone says ‘the first year of marriage is the hardest!’ I hope that’s true!!! Because wow… I’m a fighter, and he’s a peacemaker, which is a good thing, because things could be really ugly otherwise. Luckily, the good times FAR outweigh the bad, and the fights are few and far between. And the good Lord allows us to barely even remember what we were fighting about the next day.

And I’m always right by the way. 🙂

In all seriousness, I really am the luckiest girl in the world. When I’m able to look passed the nail-biting, gum-swallowing, and farting, I find that he really does possess all the character qualities I searched so hard for… for SO many years. And qualities I didn’t even know I would need to fit in with my obsessive, demanding, needy personality. Good thing I roped him in before it was too late!! 🙂

And, he’s some kind of sexy.

And now, for an excessive amount of photographs:
