The Fate of the Blog

July 6, 2011 by Bethany Sy

I’ve been thinking a lot about the immediate and future fate of our little blog. I don’t know what to expect with having two newborns, so I really can’t predict. But I do know that blogging is a great mental and emotional release for me. I blog for myself. I blog for my family. I blog to encourage women struggling with infertility. I blog as a creative outlet.

I hope that you all can be patient with us as we feel our way through this huge life-change. The blog content is likely to change somewhat. I may not blog for days at a time. I may speak openly about snot bubbles and sleep deprivation. It will take awhile before we get back to furniture transformations and updates to our home… but we will! We have big plans!

As far as baby announcements go, we won’t leave anyone hanging when the girls finally decide to make an appearance! I truly feel like it could happen at any moment. And I’m SOOOOO ready. We’ll be updating and posting pictures… all the good stuff!

Thanks for your patience, encouragements and suggestions!

i changed the date on each post by clicking “Post Options” below the body of the text, and “scheduling” the post for the date I wanted. I can’t figure out how to make the date invisible anymore. they might have removed that option? If you go to “settings” and then “formatting” it will allow you to only show the day of the week if you want (opposed to the actual date). but that’s the best thing i can think of. blogger sure doesn’t make things easy, huh?!

How did you make the ‘date’ invisible and do you mean you copied and pasted the entries so they would fall in the order you wanted?? Sorry to ask about the order of your blog again. Thanks! AND by the way, the IVF worked! And we’re expecting!! It was awesome to read your IVF blog before going through it myself.

Don’t sweat it. I had an 18-month-old and newborn twins … three in diapers. I don’t remember much of that first year. 😉 Wishing you the best & write when you can!

congrats on doing IVF! where are you at in the process? it’s such and exciting/stressful time.

my IVF blog was really frustrating because there IS NO option to have it in chronological order. i had to manually change the date of each post so they landed backwards, and make the date invisible. then i just put the actual date at the top of each post.

    hope that helps!

You are such an inspiration!!! You truly are. I started following you after I had a miscarriage in Nov – now I too am doing IVF. I hope and pray that it works!
P.S. May I ask – how did you get your IVF blog to be in chronological order??

With having twins, you will get into a routine fairly quickly. For the first 2-3 weeks that both of our babies were home from the NICU, we seriously considered an au pair. However, a light bulb clicked and everything came together overnight! The best advice I can give as a mother of twins is to put them on a schedule, which is a lot easier than you think. If one wakes up and needs a diaper change, change the other (even if they don’t need it, I know how expensive diapers are – you will go through 20 a day for both babies even when not following this advice, but it helps with the routine).
I never had, and still don’t have any help with our twins, it’s just my husband and I because our family lives 1k+ miles away, but enlist all the help you can get and take a date night every once in a while!
Twins are such an amazing blessing, you’ll find that they play with each other, smile at each other, and just look at each other in this way that I’m sure only they can understand. It’s like an instant best friend for both your children 🙂

I haven’t been a blog follower for long but I am looking forward to your twins arrival and am sooo excited for you. The first 3 weeks are very hard as you try to recover and because you really don’t know your babies. You will be learning their likes and dislikes. After 3 weeks of adjusting you will feel something changes. I can quite remember what it is. Then for me the magic of 6 weeks… things feel like your in the groove and family life clicks. Ahh! Of course it may all be different with twins. Something the hospital didn’t tell me but a friend did. After a c section use a pillow for support under your tummy to hold up your scar tissue when you walk around. 1. help ease the pain. 2. Very important to take care of your scar giving it TLC for future children!!! Obey your DR. very easy to feel energetic after loosing a lot of weight and go off and running! Looking forward to your big announcement.
