Annual Fam Camping 2011

July 5, 2011 by Bethany Sy

Annnnnd, we’re back! Hope everyone had a safe and splendid holiday weekend! Each year, my family gathers for camping over the 4th of July… and being full term with twins wasn’t going to keep me away! It’s not like sleeping on an air mattress in a tent for 4 days can possibly any more uncomfortable at this point than sleeping in my own bed… truly. And I’ve discovered the beauty of Tylenol PM. The new love of my life.

There was lots of fishing,

and canoeing,

and swimming! It felt so good just to float in the water and feel weightless.

My family has always been large (7 children!), and now having two sister-in-laws, a nephew and niece… things are getting wild and fun!

There were many trips to the bathroom.

Nick and I couldn’t help but think about how things will be so different next summer on the the 4th! The girls will be almost 1! And probably toddling around! Perhaps we shouldn’t have lakefront campsites then!

Mostly there was just a lot of hanging out. My birthday was on Sunday, and for a brief few moments at the nearby hospital… I thought I might be sharing my birthday with my two daughters. But my contractions were irregular and I’m only 1 cm dilated. So we continue to wait!

Was your weekend eventful?

As I looked at your pics….I was wishing for you a zero gravity chair. Scrolled down..and there you were! Both of my babies were born in July…I’d like to think I remember the misery well! You are a rock star!

Hi!I came across your blog from another furniture redo site!
Congrats on your twins! I have twins as well, who turned 7 months today, a boy and girl who were born at 33 weeks!
It’s awesome and AMAZING that you are still pregnant and actually walking around! Unfortunately, I was put on bedrest at 21 weeks till I had them, that was “fun”! lol
Love your blog and your house! Thanks for posting for all to see! Can’t wait to see your beautiful girls!
