I’ve been itching to do some more home improvements on the homestead. This baby budget is putting a serious cramp in my design style… but then again, my ovaries are putting a cramp in my family style. So we’ll leave that alone.
Paint is always a cheap, yet dramatic change… and if you’re like me, it gives you the ‘fix’ you need until the next project. Next room on the list… The kitchen!! Wouldn’t mind obtaining some new stainless steel appliances, but for now, we’re focusing on paint color.
The only update we’ve done to the kitchen thus far, is the painting of the backsplash. You can see that step by step process here. When we moved in, the kitchen was already painted this Sea Foamy Green color, which isn’t entirely awful when you consider some of the other horrendous things the previous owner did with wallpaper border. But it’s just not ME! And so I shall change it.
These are the color swatches I’ve chosen, and although I have one I’m leaning towards… I need your opinion!!! Vote below!
Voting is now closed! Thanks everybody!
Really cheap fix: Uses the mustard color to accent the current walls. Whatever you do, the teapot and mixer need to accent things nicely. I actually like the kitchen color now, but I do agree that the kitchen could use a slight sprucing up. I’d just add a mustard stripe or something. All mustard would be too much in my opinion, and would fight with the small appliances.
