Our new friend, Michelle just moved in to an awesome old house with TONS of space an character. She had fallen in love with the green coffee table and end table we made-over and sold awhile back. So she commissioned us to ‘refinish’ a similar set for her! We immediately started looking on craigslist for some good hardwoods to get our hands on, and we found these:
I loved the detail on the front of this coffee table, and knew that it was something Michelle would totally dig!! She pretty much gave us free reign to do whatever we wanted with them! You may be surprised that we didn’t go with our signature obnoxious color choice, but the beauty of neutral is that you can bring in pops of color elsewhere in the room with accent furniture, accessories, throw pillows curtains etc! And Michelle has plenty of color in her sweet sweet casa.
These photos however, were taken in OUR casa… we get a certain kick out of ‘staging’ furniture for photos. Isn’t this a spicy little setup?
Michelle loves her new loot! And I’m sure she’s having a blast arranging her living room around these new pieces. Thanks Michelle! Enjoy!
You amaze me… seriously! These are lovely and your color choice makes them ornate yet comfy… love it. I’ve been wanting to ‘spice up’ a pair of old asian end-tables and your glazing technique seems perfect! Did you use a brown glaze here too, or more of a darker gray?
Again… really great work!
Thanks so much!! We used a charcoal gray glaze on this piece. If you give it a go, be sure to send us pics! GOOD LUCK! 🙂
that is beautiful!!!! lindsay cox
OH! Thanks so much! I do love them! And, I’ve started to play around with table accessories. Unfortunately, right now the coffee table is topped with papers to be graded… soon I’ll remove those and add the goodies.
Thanks again!!
