Questions? Comments?

February 27, 2012 by Bethany Sy

For awhile now, I’ve been thinking we should have an “About” or “Our Story” tab at the top of our blog… describing our love, our family, our journey, our goals, and our projects. But every time I sit down to compose it, I have a major case of writer’s block. It seems like such an important thing, portraying who we are and what we’re about. But I’m having major issues.

So I had this idea that you, our readers, could ask us questions in the comment section! ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL! At the very least it will give me a spring board and hopefully help me get past my writer’s block. But most importantly, it will just be fun! Later in the week, I’ll dedicate an entire post to answering your questions! They don’t have to be serious questions. If you’re curious about something, ask it!

To save that token person from asking Nick if he wears boxers or briefs… the answer is both. Not at the same time though. It just depends on the day. And I wear the boy-cut undies from American Eagle. They’re comfortable, and I feel like they old up my cheeks a little. Like a bra for my rear. I wore a thong once as a dare… for an entire day. It was the longest most uncomfortable day of my life. I embrace my underwear lines. Wholeheartedly.

And since a post only containing text is no fun at all, here’s a video that will hopefully bring a smile to your face on this ho-hum Monday morning.

Comment away my friends! I’m an open book!

Does your husband try singing to you? Does he have a good voice? My husband sings to me and it is totally sweet, but he isn’t the greatest. However, he is just trying to be sweet and I don’t say anything. If your husband didn’t have the best singing voice, would you say anything? I don’t think I could. Haha.

Ok, here’s what I’m wondering..How did you and Nick meet? How long till you both knew this was “it”? Did I read somewhere on here that you were homeschooled? Are you glad you were homeschooled? Any advice for a homeschooling Mom? Do you have any thoughts about homeschooling your own kiddos? Do you plan on being a stay at home Mom for the long haul? Do you enjoy blogging? Is it hard for you to juggle it all–hubby, kids, home, blog, SELF!:)–and do you ever struggle with “Am I doing this right-itis”?? Wow, I feel inappropriately obtrusive, but you know, these are the types of things I’d love to ask most Moms I come in contact with, but most people are not willing to be so transparent. Please feel free to answer only what you’re comfortable with and thanks for your willingness to be real!:)

    My question is:
How do you manage all of your projects AND twins?!
I have a 4 month old daughter who is very active and I’ve always been very artistic and love doing projects, painting, drawing, sewing, etc. But unfortunately, I can’t ever seem to find time to do anything like that anymore..yet you do it all with TWO babies!!
My husband and I are in the process of closing on a new home which I’d LOVE to be able to make my own like you have yours! (which btw is BEAUTIFUL!)So I’m hoping maybe I can find some time to do some soon to make my new home beautiful too! 🙂

Do you do all your projects when the girls are napping or asleep at night or are they just really good and you can do it while they are awake. I can hardly brush my teeth and do laundry when mine are awake 🙂 Your girls are adorable and I love all the projects y’all do!!

I read your blog every day, I love it. This question might be a little personal, but I’ll ask anyway! You always seem so happy, high on life, so full of energy, postive/optimistic, etc… Are you ever not? What gets you down? (If anything!) What do you want in life that you don’t have, or haven’t done, etc. I hope this makes sense..

For example, I’m engaged, have a great career, live in a nice home, etc. But I don’t have children yet, and I think about it every single day. I know that day is coming, but sometimes it’s not soon enough, I want it so bad.

Since I know your so creative and live in an old farmhouse (me too!) How the heck do you store the girls toys? We don’t have a play room or anything so I feel like they are taking over our living room! Any clever ways to organize?

This is a furniture question: Ahem
When I come across a piece of furniture, (whether a thrift store, garage sale, or the side of the road)I always turn away items that are not solid wood. I do this for many reasons, mainly because of the painting process. But I recently found a super unique, super free buffet that has a press board top.
So, my question is…drum roll please… Do you have any tips or suggestions about painting laminated press board? (Or whatever it is called)Or is the only option to replace it? Thank you!

I love reading your blog. You are so creative and talented. Your daughters are adorable, thanks for sharing all of your stories and pictures of them. I have a Mom question: do the girls go to sleep on their own at night? I am a new Mom to a 4 month old and I’m wondering if/when I should let him fall asleep on his own. Right now I rock him to sleep at night. For his naps throughout the day he can fall asleep on his own. It just seems at night he won’t stay in the crib awake. If he wakes when I place him in there, he starts crying. So I take him out and rock him back to sleep.
Also, do you cook dinner everyday? Being a new Mom, I find it hard to juggle everything, especially since I’m now back at work.
    Thanks!

I love the unique names you chose for your twins. Are there any names you considered but didn’t choose, including boys names?
