I’ve been sitting here, staring blankly at the computer screen for an hour now, trying to think of something delicious to make for supper. See the thing is, we have plenty of food in the house. I’m just sick and tired of making the same sad rotation of meals, month after bloody MONTH! I seem to be lacking in culinary creativity. And I’m just not the kinda girl that’s gonna flip through a cookbook and pick out a recipe and make it. Unless there are pictures, and that’s a different story. I just prefer to have delicious meals recommended to me. That way, I’m not wasting time on something that will be mediocre. My sad rotation consists of about 20 meals… anything from Chicken Parmesan to Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup.
Lucky for me, I married a garbage disposal. When I slop some Hamburger Helper down in front of him, he thinks I’m the greatest cook in the world! And guess how often I make a side dish… you guessed it: NEVER.
How’s that for wifish.
And now I’ve successfully wasted an additional 20 minutes blogging about how I don’t know what to make for supper, instead of getting up and doing something about it. I can’t think on an empty stomach!
I know I’m some years late to the party, but do try food.com, which is the former Recipezaar. It has recipes for all kinds of things, and the best part is the comments by people who have made the dishes, rated them, and decided what they would do differently next time, or linked to something similar they liked better.
Plus, I’m linking a post to a list of some reverse recipe search sites, where you enter what you have and they tell you what you can make with it. Supercook even suggests recipes you can make with one or two items you don’t have, which helps if you can nip out and get them. Most of the reverse sites recognize items after a few letters typed in, which makes very quick to enter, and will save your list for later.

OK my vote is to check out thepioneerwoman.com or tastykitchen.com. both are great sights and you should find lots of wonderful yuminess. I love them both.
I just found your site today, 9/10/10 and my heart goes out to you. I wish I could take you into my arms and give you a big hug.
Hey, you could check out my food blog 🙂
I found your blog from the craigslist headboard listing. Nice to internet-meet you!
Thanks everybody for the recipes!! Can’t wait to try them all!
Very easy goulash recipe (in case you don’t have one already)
1 med onion
1 lb hamburger
1 can tomato soup
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 C elbow macaroni
Cook the macaroni al dente according to package then drain.
Brown the burger w/onion, drain grease, then add soup and tomatoes.
Add the macaroni, simmer a few minutes (noodles will soak up extra juice and get nice and plump)
Wah lah! Easy to double or triple this recipe and it’s pretty darn yummy! Salt and pepper are required of course but I prefer to let ppl season to taste instead of adding it to the whole dish.
Ok…so I started a recipe box online so that people could see my recipes…only I sort of gave up on it rather quickly. But there are four fabulous recipes on there and maybe i’ll add more if it’s going to a good cause….and you my friend are a good cause. Okay so go to myrecipecircle.com and in the search place type in lindyleigh. Three of the four recipes are desserts, but the one main dish on there is absolutely amazing…it’s angel and my’s favorite. So try it. I’ll try to add more soon. Miss you and talk to you soon.
