Roadtrip!

June 1, 2012 by Bethany Sy

Sittin’ here early in the morning, freshly showered, and sipping a cup of coffee… I don’t believe it gets better than this! I woke up at 5:30 to get my run in, because the girls and I are taking a little roadtrip today to visit my Grandma in NE Iowa! In fact, I took the girls’ weekly picture yesterday, because I knew today would be busy busy BUSY! Also, looking forward to having lunch with my good friend Meg!

The little ladies are learning what ‘NO’ means lately… girlfriends are into everything! But I absolutely love this age. It seems like something new and exciting happens everyday! You can just see the little wheels in their heads turning, as they watch and learn new things. Although they don’t really play together yet, they follow each other all round the room, exploring together! They also sit in their highchairs, smiling at each other and babbling back and forth. I love when this happens. I stop everything I’m doing and just watch them. Sometimes I feel like a miracle is happening right before my eyes.

When they found themselves in the trenches of infertility, they started a journey that would prove to be their most important DIY project ever, and have 3 beautiful girls to show for it. <3

Making lunches is weirdly fun for me. So I snap a pic here and there to share and give ideas! Keep an eye on my stories for more! 🫶

I try to get at least one fruit and one veggie in there. For main dishes, some ideas besides sandwiches are: bagel, noodles with butter/parm, hotdog/bun, quesadillas, chicken nuggets, rotisserie chicken, ham/cheese rolled up in tortilla, and don’t forget about LEFTOVERS!!

My kids would rather have cold leftovers than a sandwich, so they don’t complain. But there’s also thermos containers if you love your kids more than I do.

Don’t forget a sweet treat! This is a great way to get rid of Halloween or parade candy. 😬
Every summer, I learn a little more about gardenin Every summer, I learn a little more about gardening. This year I learned:

🥒don’t transplant cucumbers after they’re established or it’ll stunt their growth and they won’t climb your trellis
🥕till deeper for carrots so they aren’t short and fat
🥦plant cruciferous veggies earlier in the spring so they’ll have time to mature fully

🙌Things I finally nailed: tomatoes, watermelon, basil, lettuce/spinach, strawberries, greenbeans.

What did you learn this year? And what have you mastered?

@Dimetapp Cold & Cough is our go-to for itchy, stuffy, runny noses and coughs! And I love that it is alcohol free, trusted by pharmacists, and the kids love that the taste is actually sweet! No more spitting out yucky medicine, here. Exactly what they need to feel better, faster. Now we can finally get back to doing all of the things we love together, like getting crafty at home with some fun DIYs.

What’s your next DIY project now that we’re all feeling better?!
