We’ve reached 30 weeks… and strangers are starting to say, “Oh dear! Any time now, right?” And I smile and say… “only 7 more weeks!”
Everyone always wants to know how I’m feeling, and being the honest person that I am, here’s the breakdown:
- Mild constipation
- Occasional heartburn
- Swelling feet, ankles, legs and hands
- Decreasing energy
- Mid back pain
All the normal stuff, right? None of which are debilitating, and overall I’m enjoying my pregnancy. I love having the girls with me at all times, and feeling their movements. I’m still working, but will be slowly tapering off. 9 hour days are just a bit much for my hefty self.
Nick has been helping out around the house, and building things in the garage (more on that later), while I’m having to rest a lot more and try to keep my enormous feet up as much as possible.
But we’re still backsplashing on weekends, doing furniture here and there, and preparing our home for two little ones!
The girls are about 16 inches long these days… it’s hard to believe they both FIT in there! Also, hard to imagine what I’ll look like 7 weeks from now (if all goes well). But I’d like to announce that no stretch marks have appeared yet!
We’ve practically finished the nursery, and will be posting some final projects in the next week. All we have left are some small details!
I was just introduced to you on better after. I love your design and refinishing skills! I had twins 6 months ago (identical boys). I remember when I hit that point WEEKS away from my due date where people started assuming I was set to give birth any day. It was always good for a laugh! If you’re anything like me in a couple weeks they’ll stop assuming you’re about to give birth and just look at you and say “twins?” haha!
My feet and legs were so swollen at the end of my pregnancy I could barely toddle around. I even have a stretch mark (just one little one!) on one of my knees from the swelling. I feel your pain! It’s just awful! Keep those tootsies propped up as much as possible. (there is also some kind of compression panty hose you can get to help with the swelling if it gets too awful. Ask your dr. about it. I never tried it, but it is supposed to work wonders.)
And not be discouraging, but I didn’t have much in the way of stretch marks either at the end of my pregnancy, but after I delivered they were suddenly everywhere! Ah! Hopefully that won’t happen to you!!
Wow this turned into a very long comment. Just wanted to say love your stuff and congrats on the wee ones. Twinners are awesome!
I just *got* here from Better After….I am so touched by your blog, amazing by your mad skill and in love with your struggle. Congrats to all of you. The man, the mom and the beans.
Beth u still look very cute:-) Although I think you missing out some pregnant symptoms, like irregular farting and frequent urination upon laughing:-) it happened to me:-))
Wishing you all the best. When I see your feet, I so empathize. With my 1st I had lots of swelling. If you have an opportunity to go walking in a swimming pool or doing water aerobics, that may help…something about the pressure of the water driving the blood back to your heart. I enjoy seeing all your backsplashes and makeovers.
SOOO excited for you!!! Can’t wait to meet the ladies and learn their precious names…:) *hint, hint* 😉
Now i see what you meant! You look great! Get used to other people commenting, I got that a lot. Then it will be abOut the girls… Things like ” oh how great that you got one of each!”. Which one was supposed to be the boy? Ouch!
You look amazing! (and happy too!) Congrats on the 30 week feat – however the stretch mark thing – those are fighting words?!?!
Am I Jealous? Uhm, YES! Miles smacked me with my first at 31 weeks….
Girls are so much nicer than boys 🙂
hehe 🙂 Beth, you look great! Those 7 weeks are going to fly by! I’m super excited!
