We’ve come to that point in our parenting journey where we can’t just leave the chickies laying on their backs under the play gym and go do the laundry or dishes, and expect to find them in the same place upon our return. Within a matter of seconds, they could be anywhere in the room. This new stage of mobility (which isn’t technically a stage, because it’s… well …PERMANENT) is keeping me on my toes and forcing me to be mindful of what we want OUT of their reach, and what we want IN their reach.
If I feel that they’re safe and surrounded by things that will keep them busy, I may go in the kitchen and puree some fruits/veggies or something. And if I hear happy little squeals or rattles shaking, I feel like all is well. But it’s when it’s SILENT that I get worried. What kind of mischief are they getting into? Did one baby smother the other? OR, when one baby is fussy, it may be because sister is pulling on her ear, or kicking her in the face, or hitting her over the head with a toy. I didn’t think I would be facing these things with 7 month old babies ! And I know, this is only the beginning.
I try to keep family/baby photos to a minimum on the blog, because I want to be sensitive to my fellow infertile readers, and I don’t want to bore anyone. But super cute pictures have been building up, and I have to share them!
Have you tried baby jail for the girls? In this post (http://julia.typepad.com/julia/2008/08/thumbprint.html)at here be hippogriffs)makes a baby jail of sorts out of baby gates. She said that it was temporary but is referred to in later posts.
SO cute! Love the one of them sleeping together! So precious!
Love the last two pics. So cute!
I am loving those little sunglasses! Soooo cute! And I do the same thing…when it’s quiet I know my little one is up to no good lol. It’s great when they reach the stage where you can give them snacks to occupy them!
