Bathroom Vanity Progress

May 3, 2013 by Bethany Sy

NOTE: this post was supposed to be published yesterday… but then I fell ill and it didn’t get finished. I’m super aware that today is supposed to be monthly pictures of the girls, but that’s just going to have to wait for tomorrow because I’m still not up to wrangling them into that chair and dancing around and talking in my best Elmo voice.

I’m here to give a little update on ‘Project Bathroom Vanity’ …try to contain your enthusiasm (the girls are napping).

Bathroom Vanity Progress {Sawdust and Embryos}

Before we jump right into it, I would like to announce that I’ve grown to absolutely HATE the wall color in our bathroom. It’s taken excessive self-control not to slather paint all over the walls… but Nick has basically TAKEN OVER THE BATHROOM… and this pic doesn’t even has is 6’8” body in it. There’s no room for me to wield my paint roller just yet. So if you have it in your heart… turn a blind eye to the wall color.

P5010092

We’ve successfully gotten new door/drawer fronts on and ready to prime/paint & add hardware!

Project Bathroom Vanity Extension {Sawdust and Embryos}

P5010119

Don’t mind this crusty grossness where the previous vanity was attached to the wall… I have BIG PLANS for the backsplash that will take care of it.

P5010120

The far right cabinet actually pulls out and will be our laundry ‘drawer’. I’m going to sew a canvas bag that will fit in perfectly and attach with heavy duty snaps.

DIY custom bathroom vanity {Sawdust and Embryos}

And because we decided to go with a vessel sink… we gained some more storage in the form of two top drawers (that would normally be ‘fake drawers’ since the sink would dip down behind them)! As you can see the drawer to the left is smaller than it appears because we had to save room for the plumbing of the faucet. I didn’t even know you could DO that! Cool right?

P5020128 P5020129

P5010114

What was that? You were noticing our GORGEOUS Vessel Sink?

Decolav Vessel Sink {Sawdust & Embryos}

When National Builder Supply contacted us and wanted in on our bathroom project… we jumped at the opportunity when we saw this incredible Delocav vessel sink that went right along with our vision for the bathroom! And I love that it’s HUGE enough that the girls will be able to stand side-by-side and brush their teeth (once we get step stools in there).

Decolav Vessel Sink {Sawdust and Embryos}

Not only were the people of National Builder Supply generous with us, they want to be generous to our readers too! Who doesn’t love a giveaway? We love to hook you guys up.

    What a great website – so many options! I’d have to get several Progress Lighting Aged Copper Wall Lanterns for the exterior of our house. I’m tired of the dated ones that are dragging down our style. 🙂

    Have a great snowy weekend!

    I love how your bathroom is turning out. The countertop is just beautiful and the sink is really, really fun! I looked at NBS website and saw lots of stuff that I would like but I think I would put it towards a light fixture over my dining room table or a new kitchen sink! Both are very exciting! And you were both liked on FB! Have a great weekend!
