So we took a super impromptu vacation this weekend. There are several reasons:
1) Alleviate:
a) work related stress
b) baby-making stress
2) Revive:
a) our marriage
b) our attitudes
3) Restore:
a) the non-baby-making variety of love
And literally, we didn’t know where we were going until the night before we left. I, for one, love being spontaneous. Nick on the other hand, allows it, and considers it a labor of love. I was hoping we could just drive to the airport and take the next flight out… to wherever!! But our budget restrictions did not allow for this extreme form of impulsiveness.
Instead, we packed up the Jeep, and left early in the morning on Thursday, and voyaged directly to St. Louis. We treated ourselves to a swanky hotel, and did all the ridiculously touristy things there were to offer. Beginning with the arch!
This is Nick’s very first experience with room service. It was wonderful. And expensive.
Then there was the beer factory. I guess the ‘proper’ title is The Anheuser Busch Factory. Where all of your favorite beers are brewed and packaged with love. We even got to have a little tasty taste. Did you know that the Midwest consumes the most beer? Your welcome Anheuser Busch.
We had an extremely relaxing and enjoyable vacation! And St. Louis was the most perfect little weekend vacation destination. It was such a clean city, with lovely people, and tons of things to do! Not to mention great food! Here are a few artsy photos that we snapped that really have no story behind them. Just showin off our dope photography skillz, peeps. What?
Peace out.
Looks like you both had a lot of fun in our “hometown.” You definitely took in the must-do sights in St. Louis–places we usually take our visiting friends and family!
If you make it back here again, I recommend also visiting City Museum. It is an old shoe factory that has been converted into a(mostly) adult’s playground, complete with an old school bus on top of the building. It’s pretty eclectic and a lot of fun:

we spent a few days in st. louis this summer. we went to forest park (which i loved–LOVE “meet me in st. louis” with judy garland) and spent an hour paddleboating on a fun little pond with canals. best $15 we spent!
That’s awesome beth. We’re doing the same thing this week! 🙂 Not sure where we’re going yet either… just shawn and me…it’s been way too long.
hey Maranda! we just have a sad little Canon Powershot. 🙂 …wouldn’t mind upgrading one day!
Great pics! What kind of camera do you use?
LOVE IT! So glad you guys likes St. Lou! It has been our fav vacay by far and I would totally go back again!
