So mi madre came down to the homestead for a little crafternoon. We got our craft on by throwing together a crib skirt for my little princesses! When buying fabric, I really thought I was getting a good deal… with my selections being on sale and all, not to mention the 40% off coupon I had. But fabric will still remain the most expensive element in the nursery. But you know? I’m ok with that. I love the feminine eyelet fabric (below!), and the bold print of the curtains. No regrets here my friends. No regrets.
We laid out the fabric and got crackin! We used this tutorial as a basic outline, changing things as we felt necessary.
Don’t you love these scalloped edges?
My momma is a rockstar seamstress/crafter, and so I listen. And learn. I bet she wishes I had that mindset when she was trying to homeschool me. NOPE!
I so love this tailored smooth look. So many bed skirts are just ruffly and… all the same. But with all the detail of the Jenny Lind crib, I wanted to keep the skirt smooth and, well, awesome. Allowing they eyelet fabric to speak for itself and be able to shine!
I just love it, ok? And you should too. Everything’s slowly coming together! Can’t wait for the babies to be IN this crib!!
looks great, love it, it is so cute!
That made the crib look fancy, thank you for sharing.
I’m really not a lace fan but eyelet? LOVE, LOVE! So cute!
So cute. When I was growing up I had little flowers with the mustard yellow in them for me and my twins bedding. Wish I still had them!
Gorgeous, gorgeous! That bedding is just fabulous. I wish my mom was closer to teach me her ways, too.
Looks good, Beth! You’re so lucky to have your mother’s talents to learn from. I see a little pink crib sheet and love how all the colors go together!
looks great!
I love the crib skirt. I think you might be inspiring me to make my own bedding set instead of purchasing the one I have picked out. I also am in the market for a Jenny Lind crib and have been stalking craigslist for one. I LOVE what you did with yours.
