My little baby humans turned 4 months this week! And we celebrated by going to the doctor and getting shots! And while we were there, we got some measurements/percentages to share…
These percentages are based on regular baby growth charts, and not the preemie chart. So all things considered, they’re growing quite well! As you can see, Paisley’s maintained her lead since birth. We like to call her ‘generously curvy’ or ‘big boned’ or ‘not as petite as Adelyn’.
As you can see in the picture below, Adelyn obviously isn’t suffering from malnourishment. Her 10 gallon cheeks are SO SQUEEZABLE!
In other health-related news, Paisley’s hemangioma is healing slowly but surely, and it looks like we’re going to be able to dodge making a trip to see a Pediatric Dermatologist. Her Acid Reflux is also under control! Adelyn, however, has taken to night terrors… seriously such a scary thing! I didn’t even know babies this young could have that! I’ve been reading tons of forums and talking to other mom’s that have dealt with it, and it sounds like there’s not a lot you can do. Do any of you have experience with a young baby suffering from night terrors? How did you comfort him/her? Or did you notice any triggers to avoid? My poor little baby!

Hey! I’m not THAT chubby!

my daughter had them as an infant until about 2 years old. Not much you can do, but I noticed that garlic seemed to be a trigger. if she ate foods that had garlic she would almost always have one.

When my son Tre was little he also had night terrors. I would just hold him, tell him it was going to be ok and put him back to sleep after he had calmed down. I asked my mom why/how does this happen and she said the doctor told her (when my brothers were little) when a child goes to bed and has had an active day, that there bodies slow down but there brain is still going at the same pace it was during the day.
Hope this helps you. Your girls are so beautiful. God bless you guys.

Hi Beth. Thank you so much for sharing so much of your life with us. It is so inspiring. And gives me hope.
I was just recently diagnose with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) this past week & I was doing a lot of research on natural treatments & etc. And I decided to take a break & go onto Pinterest (because its therapeutic for me when I’m inspired) And I just happened to stumble upon your pins & they lead me here. To your blog. At first I wondered why your blog had such a weird name to it & I couldn’t understand it. I was just looking through all your DIY’s & projects that you & Nick have been doing. I was just in awe of your creativity.
And then what got to me even more was when I started reading through your blog. Your adventure with infertility just touched me so much. You have inspired me to start up my own blog. Reading all the words you typed out, it was exactly how I hve been feeling.
So through prayer, I thanked the Lord for your blog because, through your blog, my hope is restored & I was able to taste the true miracles that God can give me as well. Thank you. Keep doing what you are doing. Congratulations for Paisley & Adelyn. They are both beautiful.
Pray that I may someday have what you have. That I may be blessed as well.

Your girls are absolutely precious! Thank you for sharing them with us! I had an idea about your Friday photo sessions. How about adding something seasonal to show what time of year it is? Or put a lettered sign with the date and their age? I’m thinking that in years to come it would make it easier to tell how old they are and more fun to remember. Please keep the photos and updates coming!

When my two year had his I quietly sang Jesus loves me in his ear, didn’t notice any triggers though.

My 7-month-old has had 3 or 4 nights where she woke up screaming and each time it seemed like she was having a bad dream and couldn’t wake up. I didn’t know they did that so young either! I have no idea what triggered them but just held her and tried to gently wake her up saying her name. It is so sad! Just makes you wonder what they could possibly be dreaming about!
