Attic Closet Rescue

February 22, 2011 by Bethany Sy

One thing I certainly can’t complain about is the amount of storage we have in our home. Granted, there is no pantry, linen closets or coat closets (which I still DO complain about), but our attic is fully refinished, giving us tons of room to store boxes, camping equipment, out of season clothing, Christmas boxes, and an extensive/bizarre Anastasia collection. And though I should be ashamed, somehow I still post embarrassing photos like this on my blog:

I just couldn’t seem to keep it organized. There is a huge wall-long closet, but without shelves/doors/etc, making a less-than-convenient storage area. So when shelving went on sale at Menards, we jumped on it!

And my life feels so much more in order. Everything has it’s place and boxes are clearly labeled. And I sleep better at night.

Next, I’m going to hang a curtain rod across the tops of each closet opening, and hang some cheap curtains to close things off, and make it all look more finished. Also on the future agenda is changing that horrifying mint green wall color.
