It’s so weird how I love my girls differently. Equally, but differently. They’re such different little people, with different personalities, preferences, and sleep patterns. I hope they know how much I delight in them! How do people get by with only one single baby? It seems so unnatural to me! I can’t put into words how much I love these little girls.
They haven’t quite figured out that they should look at the camera. 🙂

I hope you don’t think we were trying to pick on you. I would say it is different for twin mommy’s. Especially if your first children are twins. To experience all that love for the first time. That’s a lot of love! And being torn between the differences I’m sure adds a lot to it. Although, I’ve had mine so close together that people with twins say they had it easier since they only had to be pregnant once, I’m sure it’s still a much different experience to have twins.

Your girls are completely adorable! I had no idea about mother-love until I had my son, who is now 18 years old, and it caught me by surprise too. It is total and complete and perfect – and I suppose just an inkling of how God loves us 🙂 I wish you all the best with your beautiful family (and I never hear anyone really say this – but the teen years aren’t all that bad, lol)

Ok ok ok people… I suppose I could have worded that differently. I guess having twins, I naturally assumed they would have a lot of similarities, and I would by nature love them similarly. The way that I love them differently was something I wasn’t expecting. Having never experienced love for a child before, it was surprising and strange they way I love them so differently. I can see how it would be the same way with two children of different ages.
I agree – I don’t know its so much twins but just having more than one! I have 3 and I totally agree with you.
They are very sweet!
Any parent of two children can understand equal but different love. It’s not a twin phenomenon.
I enjoy reading your blog, and I am so happy you were finally blessed with children. However, I must disagree, that you DON’T have to have twins to understand that phenomenon. I have a 4, 3, and 1 year old, and I love each of them sooo much. EQUALLY, yet SO DIFFERENTLY!
How could you NOT put them in together?! I agree with you! You’re done it once, you can make it through another twin pregnancy, especially since you know now what to expect. We tried for two years, but thakfully only needed drugs. I’m still nursing at 2 years, too, and was just told this morning that twins are 9 times more likely in nursing mothers. Add that to the fertility meds… um… I’m scared! Haha.

The fertility process is certainly NOT any fun! But the outcome has potential to be so so awesome! I’m a big fan of twins… IN FACT, I’ve been toying with the idea of putting our last two embryos in at the same time again. Two babies is such a blast! The twin-pregnancy though? Not as enjoyable as I had hoped. 🙂 Decisions!!
Love your blog! You know, it’s funny, becasue we’re trying to decide if we want to go through the whole fertility process to have another (my son is nearly 2). I can’t wrap my brain around how I could love TWO. I can’t imagine loving another child as much as I love him. Reading how you don’t know how you’d love only one made me smile.
