Robyn’s Backplash

June 27, 2010 by Bethany Sy

With two backsplashes to paint in the same neighborhood, we decided to make a weekend of it and had a total blast painting next-door-neighbors, Robyn’s and Ann’s backplashes! Robyn was envisioning dark browns and chocolates, and just let us go to town! Nick has his measuring down to an art… and we’ve got a system down that allows us to punch these babies out in 2 1/2 – 3 hours!

Robyn’s kitchen had a fun layout and beautiful cabinets, and we knew from the start that this one would be an amazing transformation! This was the kitchen… pre-backsplash:

Do you ever watch HGTV? On the kitchen episode of design star (season 4- hollywood) they did a fake “tin” backsplash- it looked so awesome! It also did not require any wet saw, grout, etc. It’s a product that I know they sell at home depot that is a synthetic material that you could just cut with a regular saw and you just attach it with either glue or small nails. It is something I think I’d like to try!
