My babes are starting to really seem like little people! They let me know exactly how they’re feeling, and they have opinions… strong opinions. “I’m hungry, and I’m hungry NOW!” I know what you’re thinking… wait till they’re toddlers. But being a nanny for 8 years, I’m familiar with the sweet potatoes flying through the air, poop smears on the wall, and public tantrums. We’re taking developmental phases one at a time ’round these parts.
Adelyn is my “Daytime Angel Baby” who smiles and coos and plays quietly for hours, even when sissy is being a crabster. However, night time is a different story… girlfriend wakes up in the wee hours of the morning and lets me know that’s she’s bored. She’s not all-out crying, but it’s not pleasant happy sounds either. I would describe it as a whiney-bored cry.
Paisley on the other hand, is my “Nighttime Angel Baby”, and will sleep for 13 hours each night, whether sissy is crying 2 inches from her face or not. She sleeps hard, and she sleeps long. But during the day? Girlfriend wants attention. And I’m NOT talking about the attention that twins automatically benefit from, having one another to play with. I’m talking about mommy attention. The type where mommy has to be looking at/playing with/ doting upon pretty much constantly.
It’s so weird how incredibly OPPOSITE they are! I love them in such different ways! Not a day goes by that I don’t think about how I’m the luckiest girl in the world. Not only did I score a smokin’ hot man-boy… but against all odds, I got my lovlies.
Me and Dell are still exactly the same! I’m the night time angel, (except for my farts) and Della is the Daytime angel. In the day, I WANT ALL THE STINKIN’ ATTENTION and at night, let’s just say there’s a mix of fart in the air and lot’s of loud noises.
they’re so pretty Beth
This is just another reason I like Fridays. They both look like bundles of fun!! Boy. I miss me some babies.
What a nice picture! I love Paisley’s sweater by the way 😉 It is also nice to hear an update on the girls’ personalities. Twins are so much fun. And they keep getting more fun as they get older. My almost 2 yr olds are talking and playing with each other and it is so rewarding to see them being such good friends! Love to you and your girls (and Nick;)! – Crystal

I’m right there with you with Paisley… although our little man (almost 1 year) doesn’t sleep that well at night 🙂 But he’s a NEED ATTN NOW kind of man!!
