Yesterday I was cruising Pinterest and kept coming upon sooooo many awesome ‘Live Edge’ ideas. Apparently we weren’t too far off with the trends when we decided to use one on our breakfast bar.

If you’re not familiar with what ‘Live Edge’ means, it’s a slab of rough-cut wood that has one or more edges that are ‘live’ and organically shaped exactly the way they were cut from the trunk or branch of a tree! They’re so natural and gorgeous!

I love the way these natural elements bring a certain warmth and personality to a room… not to mention an unexpected conversation piece! And I feel strongly that they can be incorporated with ANY design style. Don’t you agree?

I’m so glad that I found out that I can buy these  live edge slabs on Amazon, because the lumber yard where we got ours went out of business (BOO!). It’s good to know there are other sources!
