Home Improvements: Wallpaper Border

September 18, 2009 by Bethany Sy

When we bought this house, the previous owners were generous enough to leave us their shower curtain, towels, rugs, soap dispenser and trash can that so vibrantly match the neon daisy wallpaper boarder and corresponding neon wall color. It wasn’t our fave, though I know if I were 12, I would have chosen this exact color combination.

Now THAT’S enough to wake you up in the morning!
In an effort to feel as ‘country’ as possible in my new ‘country surroundings’, I lit a match.

Sweet Justice.
Now here’s the finished product:
So here’s the deal… I’ve been accused of choosing obnoxious and/or bizarre paint colors in the past, and I reckon this bathroom is no exception. This one, I like to call… Mucus.        Let me know what you think of the outcome! I’m interested in getting some feedback.

OK, you’re now going to ban me from your site, but I actually like the colors in the old bathroom. Well, maybe not ALL in one tiny room, but I like some of it. I am not sure I like the mucus-colored paint.

Other rooms you’ve redone? Perfection! Really love the tone on tone in the kitchen.

I found your blog through Curbly, and instantly decided that I HAD to read it from the beginning. The first sentence of this post made me laugh out loud. We are moving into a house FULL of 80s wallpaper. I can’t wait to get my hands on that stuff and rip it out!

I just found your blog and am making my way through your room renovations. Wondering, did you keep the orange accent? I actually like the green color, I’m a fan of odd colors as well.

We used to have that exact design in our old bathroom except instead of the green walls, our bathroom was bright yellow. imagine waking up to that every morning. sad thing is that we chose to do it that way.
