My Pride and JOY!

September 30, 2011 by Bethany Sy

My little babies are 12 weeks today! It's hard to remember how tiny they used to be! It used to be a special treat to try and prop the girls on this orange chair so their heads wouldn't flop around. But now their necks are strong and they sit there like big girls! It's a good thing yesterday wasn't picture day, because the girls were extra crabby. SO crabby in fact, that I emailed Nick at work and ... [ Read More ]

Oh The Countryside

September 28, 2011 by Bethany Sy

It's this time of year that Nick starts referring to our acreage as "the farm", when in fact... we don't farm. Nor do we own any farming land. We only own our wee morsel (5 acres) of land amongst all the fields of soybeans and corn. I like to call it "an acreage". He also starts dreaming of combines and grain bins. This is the view from our front porch... harvest in full swing.I found this little ... [ Read More ]

Weekend Activity

September 26, 2011 by Bethany Sy

I'd like to take a moment to recap our weekend.Saturday morning, we awoke at 5, showered,  fed and prepped the girls, loaded the diaper bag and car, and headed to Eldora to paint a backsplash! We then drove directly to Gladbrook where we celebrated our neice, Kendall's very first birthday! There was grilling, presents,   ...and cake. Lots of cake.Upon our arrival back home, we ... 11 Weeks

September 23, 2011 by Bethany Sy

It's so weird how I love my girls differently. Equally, but differently. They're such different little people, with different personalities, preferences, and sleep patterns. I hope they know how much I delight in them! How do people get by with only one single baby? It seems so unnatural to me! I can't put into words how much I love these little girls. They haven't quite figured out that they ... [ Read More ]

New Addition

September 20, 2011 by Bethany Sy

We've knocked out some pretty awesome end tables (like this, this, and this) that I reeeeeeeeally wanted to keep for my own living room. But for the greater good we sold them. I don't regret that decision at all. But I still dream of fixing up my living room to be awesome. I want to love it the same way I love my kitchen and nursery!Well... over the weekend, we acquired a new end table for our ... [ Read More ]

Sugar and Spice

September 17, 2011 by Bethany Sy

Well, I took pics of the girls yesterday, like I always do on Fridays... but it was super cloudy without much natural light, and I don't love how they turned out. Today, however, is also cloudy. And tomorrow will be as well. So I'm just going to post this picture anyway!Lil chickies weren't entirely cooperative. But they're babies. And I'm an incredibly tolerant and awesome mom.Can you tell who's ... [ Read More ]

This upholstered headboard is SO SIMPLE and easy to make... and I'm gonna share the how-to tutorial with ya!! *this post contains affiliate links Well this headboard was a no-brainer... we had leftover damask fabric (from the nursery curtains) that I'm totally in love with.
