So, my adorable and loving husband somehow obtained a Sports Authority gift card at his job, and he chose to give it to his sweet little pumpkin pie. I gritted my teeth, let go of my pride …and ACCEPTED this generous gift with a little squeal of delight!! I don’t even like shopping (it gives me anxiety), but Sports Authority? There are things in that store to be acquired! And so, we went shopping!
I have an unhealthy love affair with snowboarding. In the spring, when the last of the snow melts, I undergo a devastating depression at the thought of the long summer ahead. A summer without snow. A summer without freedom. A summer without goggle-tans, and broken tail-bones and bruised knees. Summers teach me patience.
But friends, the time is drawing near. The snow will soon be falling. And I will be jubilantly frolicking about my yard, with Reuben on my heal. Both of us looking equally idiotic, flailing all appendages in the air. I can smell the sweet winter in the air already. It’s knocking.
Soon, I will feel the wind in my face. The snow pelting my cheeks as I cascade down the slopes. SOON!
I’m not sure which day God created snow… but I’m pretty sure that he said it was GOOOOD!
I love how little things get you soo excited! At least there’s something to look forward to in the winter… Though I do have to admit that this is the first year I’ve prayed that there will NOT be a white Christmas! I really don’t want to drive from NY in a snow storm. I’m just not as strong as you, Beth!! I hope slopes open up for you very soon!!
